PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE

Dear School Community,

At Sirius College, all the staff members work hard to make sure that we provide quality education for the students. In this regard, we always seek parents’ and other community members’ constructive feedback so that we can improve our services and maximize the students’ learning. Concerns and complaints are best and most effectively managed initially with positive teacher and parent communication. The homeroom teacher should always be your first point of contact. Our school needs to know if you have any concerns about your child’s education or social/emotional learning. Teaching and learning works best when parents and teachers talk to each other and work together to solve any problems. Whether you are raising a concern, paying a compliment or making a complaint, your input is the key to improving our services.

I would like to take this opportunity, to share recent and upcoming events with you.

Parent Teacher Interviews: We held parent teacher interviews two weeks ago. I believe these interviews strengthen communication between parents and the school and have positive influences on students’ learning. If you miss your appointment, you can always call the school and arrange for another mutually convenient time to meet.

Saturday Soccer Matches: We have had a solid and strong start to playing with other teams on Saturdays. The trainings are held on Mondays and Thursdays. I request all the players to come to the trainings and matches on time.

Mother’s Day: We invited all mothers for a morning tea on Friday, May 11th to celebrate Mother’s Day. Students like to thank their mums for all the love and care that they show them everyday. All mothers who participated with their child at school on Friday 11th May have been presented with a small gift. On behalf of your child, we too say also; Thank You, Have a Happy Mother’s Day.

NAPLAN Tests: The Naplan Tests will be conducted next week from Tuesday to Thursday. I believe that our students will do their best. Please make sure that they do not miss the exams.

Iftar Dinner: Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar and it begins next week. Muslims across the globe celebrate this with much devotion and sincerity. During this holy month, Muslims fast and reflect spiritually. Ramadan is the time for spiritual reflection. Like last year, we are inviting our parents and community members to come together and celebrate the holy month. Invitation cards were already distributed to the students. Please make sure that you make your booking in advance. The Iftar Dinner will be at G.V. Hotel starting at 5 pm on Friday, May 25th. We are looking forward to seeing you all there.

Regards,
Mr. Adem Engin
